Shepherd’s Needle

This “weed” is Shepherd’s Needle, named for the needle-like burrs that follow its tattered daisy-like blooms. Doesn’t look like much, but to butterflies and wasps, this is the equivalent of a Hot Fudge Sundae. Most of my butterfly pictures are taken while crouching in these weeds and collecting burrs all over my clothes.
