This week started out with a fishing charter on the lake that we had booked a few weeks prior. We had no idea what to expect other than to hopefully spend another nice day out on the water. After having cleared a bit the previous evening, the wildfire smoke began to slowly blow in to the Tahoe area again on the day of our charter. It wasn’t bad though and the trip proceeded on schedule.

We were accompanied by two other couples on this charter. Along with the Captain and his mate, there were a total of eight people on the boat. We went out to a deeper part of the lake and began fishing for Kokanee Salmon at a depth of 100 feet down. We had a hugely successful day, catching the maximum limit for the boat of 30 fish. The Captain recommended we take our catch to a local restaurant that would cook them for us and serve up a nice dinner. We did this and it was terrific. It was a great day and we would definitely do this again.

The wind shifted over the next two days to an unfavorable direction which blew a lot of wildfire smoke into the Tahoe basin. This was the first time since we’ve been here that the smoke directly affected our outdoor activities. We spent that time mostly inside catching up on reading.

Glennis and Kyle arrived on Friday for an extended weekend visit since this is our last weekend here (we check out on Saturday morning the 28th). We had an very nice dinner together at a place called “Evans”.

On Saturday (yesterday) we had lunch in the Heavenly Village ski resort area, and walked around to all the local shops and attractions.
