Today’s blog entry will be a short one. It was a stormy night last night, and we were rocking around pretty good at 2AM when a strong squall blew through the marina. The power went out and it rained hard, but the storm eventually passed and by 4AM the power was back on we were able to get back to sleep.
Today was spent going over the weather forecast in detail again using the myriad of weather applications we have (today’s featured picture shows one of those tools). We also met two couples who had recently arrived in the marina on their sailboats this past weekend. One of these boats is on its way back to Florida also so we compared notes about the weather forecast and route planning. Later in the day, we were invited over to their boat for a social hour with the six of us. We had a wonderful time and our social hour stretched to nearly four hours.
The forecast for later this week has changed slightly from what it had been, introducing a small possibility of us departing tomorrow afternoon instead of Wednesday morning as we originally planned. We will decide tomorrow morning once we hear the 6:30AM update.
Otherwise, today was a day of final preparations to make C Ghost ready to go at a moment’s notice. Sorry about the lack of pictures today, the time just got away from us and we got caught up in too many other things. Plus, the weather was not good for picture taking today.
If we do leave tomorrow, we will only be going to the other side of the island were on and should still be in cell phone range and able to make another blog post tomorrow evening.
Tonight’s dinner was reheated chicken souse and fresh bread. The latter was rather flat, as Paula’s bread dough didn’t rise well in the humid, steamy air. And yes, FK got some of the chicken too.
