Cross Country Drives

Flagstaff, Arizona

We had a rather short drive to Flagstaff, AZ today (around 260 miles) so we had plenty of time to walk around the historic section of the city. There were numerous shops, bars, and eateries so it was a lot of fun. We bought some local orange blossom honey (there are lots of citrus groves in Arizona, who knew) and mesquite flower honey. Tommy got an iced honey lavender latte, very good, and Paula had plain coffee.

Our hotel is very nice and has stand-up good quality telescopes that you can borrow and take to your room to view the night sky. Never heard of this before. Some of the rooms have a view of the mountains so there may be good star viewing.

We’ll try for an early dinner and evening as tomorrow we plan to be at the entrance of the Southern Rim of the Grand Canyon by 8:00 a.m.
