This weekend we tried out a large beach just over the Nevada line, named Nevada Beach, naturally. The beach is wide and long and very popular. The group was able to find parking at the Lake Tahoe church. The sand was golden and course and made a great sandbox for the kids. Glennis and Dacia had made an excellent picnic lunch and brought drinks.

This was truly Tayva’s day in the sun. She ran, she dug in the sand, she swam with the other children and Keithan, and posed in the sand for photos. The other kids had a great time too.

This weekend was also the end of the summer poker tournament, and Tom won! Miller presented him with the ceremonial Tahoe coffee cup, which Miller had custody as last year’s winner. Tom will keep it until he is (possibly) defeated next summer.

Dacia and Glennis showed off their buff biceps and triceps as they paddled the lake in the kayaks. They returned happy, having caught up with each other on recent events. Glennis sported a mild sunburn, but was a champ about it.

Glennis and Kyle sponsored a trip to the Golden Nugget for Tom and Paula (many thanks, you guys!) where they enjoyed House Boil and Bouillabaisse plus some fresh oysters. They also shared a great piece of lemon ricotta cheesecake. Afterwards, they briefly tried some video poker. Paula lost $40 and Tom won $60.

Paula and Tom minded Charlie another night while Kyle and Glennis went to Hell’s Kitchen. They had scallops and wonderfully prepared Beef Wellington, but they said that the best dish of the evening was the sticky toffee pudding. Charlie slept well this night until Mom and Dad got home.

Other notable events included the hot air balloon rising right above the house, Jackson hiding in the sofa cushions, surprising Kyle, and lots and lots of loving on Charlie!
